camp wedding craft
I was honored to be a crafty part of my good friends Brittney and Adam’s wedding: from carving their save-the-date design, then block printing their thank-you cards at B’s bachelorette weekend, to designing and installing their Camp Notes message board at the big event. A few pictures from the process, which started way back in February!
baja honeymoon road-trip
Some of my good friends recently got married in Baja and post-wedding spontaneously hopped a ride north from Pescadero with another friend. I love the impulsiveness of these adventurers, so I took a portrait I drew of them from the beach volleyball court and Photoshopped it on some of their road-trip photos. These are the results:
sketches from peru
I recently traveled to Peru for a work trip with AdventureSmith Explorations and only had time for two small sketches. For photos from the journey, view my Instagram feeds: the personal/llama-filled @lis_k and the professional @adventure_smith, which features a fuller look at my wanderings in the Lares and Salkantay regions, Sacred Valley, Cusco and Machu Picchu. Huayna Picchu is sketched above while I waited in line for the gates to open; below is a view of Humantay Glacier, an acclimatization hike I took on the Salkantay trek. My full expert review is also now published on this trip – read my trip report.
restocked at riverside
My classic Tahoe designs are restocked at Riverside Studios in Truckee, and I’ve printed my “greetings” stamp in a new pattern on Kraft-colored postcards. Get ’em & snail mail! Currently I’ve got the premium register-side display so you can find them easily.

snail mail @ the yoga room
I’ve added another retailer for my postcards – the Yoga Room in Tahoe City. I hope in this comforting space, yoga-goers will think of a loved one, see my postcards and be inspired to snail-mail some thoughts… or at the least, it’s some local art on the walls!
I also reconfigured my old snowflake print, adding some pen-ink lines. I have it in postcard version at the Yoga Room, and in mini cards with envelopes at Riverside Studios in Truckee.
postcards @ alpenglow
My block-printed postcards have a new retail location: Alpenglow Sports in Tahoe City. For now I’m just selling my new Freel Peak design. Look for them currently in the storefront display, next to the Raindrops on Roses cards!
lawton trading post
One of my besties, Ruth, has opened Lawton Trading Post in Outer Sunset, on 43rd and Lawton next door to Andytown Coffee. I’ve spent a few hours cleaning, merchandising, cash registering and stamping bags to help her out & her shop is now a retail location for my hand-carved and printed postcards. Stop by, say hi to Ruth, buy an amazing sandwich (tri-tip on Tuesdays!) and a postcard. General goods, with beer, wine, booze in a custom-built liquor library with a sliding ladder… plus prepared food touched by the culinary goddess hand of Ruth!
beaverstock 2015 – more postcards!
I handmade block-printed postcards for Beaverstock again this year, and Castoro Cellars supplemented them with some printed photo ones. In all, festival-goers sent out 224 postcards! Viva snail mail!
