wordsmith – a person who works with words; especially, a skillful writer

Our word choices couldn’t be more important in today’s world of 140-character limits, short attention spans, and pure overabundance (think about all those blogs and Facebook updates).

As an experienced editor and persnickety style connoisseur, I not only know the value of wisely choosing words but also make each character count with proper punctuation, perfectly placed modifiers, and all the other tricks so many burgeoning writers don’t utilize.

I have experience in all types of writing (editorial, commercial, PR), copy editing, proofreading, SEO, and social media. I’m known for my natural, friendly tone, yet can cater my voice to your needs.

Current clients of my editing work include the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno; South Lake Tahoe publisher Bona Fide Books; Tahoe/Truckee independent newspaper Moonshine Ink; and Smith + Jones marketing/branding agency.

resume & writing samples:

I currently manage content (writing, editing, and search engine optimizing posts) on the Tahoe Mountain Sports blog. Some of my most popular posts include Contour vs Go Pro – Wired Weighs In, Adventures of a 1-Year-Old Skier, and Spot Connect Racks Up Awards. I’m also very proud of launching a Leave No Trace Facebook campaign, which spiked our fan count and spawned an ongoing relationship with the nonprofit.
